The Grip Type Needle Cleaner is software controlled and can be used on any GPD Global dispenser to clean a needle during the calibration process, any time during a program run, and offline when the dispenser is not busy.
The needle cleaning process occurs when (1) the needle is positioned between the set of pneumatically operated sponge grip jaws, (2) the jaws clamp on the needle simultaneously, and then (3) the gantry raises the needle upward, wiping the needle clean on the soft jaws (which can be optionally covered with a wipe patch).
(1) Needle with a "blob" of material descending into the Grip Type Needle Cleaner.
(2) A 3.2" (81 mm) length of wiper area is available to provide numerous clean needle wipes prior to cleaning or replacing the disposable jaw parts.
(3) Cleaned needle & standoff foot.
