The programmable Illuminator Controls for GPD liquid dispensing systems provide enhanced fiducial/feature recognition. By changing the color and/or intensity of the illuminator on the vision alignment system prior to pattern recognition, the system can compensate for a variety of substrate colors, reflective properties, or textures. This allows for more accurate and repeatable dispensing on such substrates as FR4, gold, and ceramic, critical for advanced applications in the high density interconnect and semiconductor packaging markets.
Illuminator Controls can be programmed for blue or red illumination and variable intensity, depending on which combination provides the most contrast for a given substrate. Vision libraries allow alignment patterns to be saved with the required lighting color and intensity, as well as camera parameters. Illuminator intensity and color can be changed within a program on the fly.
Illuminator Controls are available on any GPD Global dispensing system, including the DS Series and MAX Series.
